Yesterday, Eryna met her little sister..

The baby looked directly at her, but Eryna is too young to know that baby is her own little sister... She kissed the baby, and that's about it. She continued playing with her iPad and wandered around the room. However, when we just about to send the baby back to the nursery, the baby cried and at our surprise, Eryna cried too. She kept saying, 'Papa, baby nangis!'.

It reminds me of myself and my sister. The difference is that when I was born, my sister already learned that I am her sister as she was already 4 years old at that time..

My little niece was born this morning (9 November 2011) at 7.15am. She weighs 2.76kg upon birth and i'm sure she'll be 2 times heavier next month :)

A lil' update..

Been busy for the past few weeks..Went to conference, fall sick, meeting, meeting, and work endlessly. This is not a complain, it only shows my common daily life nowadays.

Conference? Owh, its about Search & Rescue. You may find the ads on a billboard as u pass Istana Budaya going towards KLCC. Interesting? Definitely. Boring? Not really, depends on the topic but i feel sleepy most of the time. You can count how many ladies in there.. and most of the participants are gov officials.

Caught a fever once before the conference. The temperature of the conference hall was so low that the fever got worse. It took daysss before i got my pink health back. It is proven now, work doesnt help you get any better.. hahahahahah (shhhhhhhh......dont tell anyone i'm from HSE~)

We are now in fasting month and i got sick AGAIN! Blame mommy for cooking TOO delicious chilli prawns for buka puasa... ALLERGY ATTACK!!!! Now i'm going to have runny nose for a few days.. uuuuuuuuuu

Day 4: Seoul (Nami Island)

This was the day I waited for so long.. Travel to Nami Island!!!

Nami Island is very popular after the shooting of Winter Sonata. I was so excited though I did not watch the whole full series, but I know for sure that this place is going to be beautiful (learning from the pictures I’ve seen in the internet.

We departed by bus at Tapgol Park around 0930hrs. We were the last 3 people to board the bus (the bus was actually waiting for us! Hehhe..) The journey to Nami Island took around 1 hour 30 minutes, so we dozed off along the way~ Price for the tour bus roundtrip is W 15,000.

Once we arrived at the jetty, we gave our entry visa to the immigration officer (price for visa W 8,000). Nami Island is a republic by itself (kinda funny to me since it is just a tiny island). We travelled across by a nice, clean boat. It only took 10 minutes to reach Nami Island. Once arrived, we took out a map, and walk around the island.

Plain rice with sunny side egg and kimchi underneath. There is a way to eat this: Put on the gloves, shake the tin box, then only open it. You can see a well-mixed kimchi-rice :)

Back from Nami Island, we went to Itaewon for our kebab moment. Next, we went to collect our luggage left at Friend’s House and travel straight to NAMU guest house by cab. The rate was W 27,000per person per night.

NAMU GUESTHOUSE rating (out of 5):

1) Bed – 4/5 (Room and bed was very clean, but without heater like previous houses!)

2) Toilet – 4.5/5 (It was clean and spacey enough. Water heater ran well J )

3) Service - 5/5 (The 2 managers named Jina and HJ were very friendly. They speak English really well. They were resourceful too!)

4) Overall rating – 4.5/5

Tired from Nami Island tour, we dozed off dreaming of our own Winter Sonata~ ;)

Tips for day 4:

1) Be punctual if you are following any tour. It is embarrassing enough to be the last person boarding the bus.

2) Booked for the tour online, or through your guesthouse. It was easier.

3) Do not start thinking of buying one-way ticket to Nami Island. Just buy the return ticket for tour bus. Though the tour said to be half-day (which sounds too long), you will definitely ran out of time when you start taking pictures of every inches of Nami Island.

4) If you are moving to another guesthouse/hotel within the trip, just stop the cab anywhere at the roadside and show them the address. Don’t try to be a cheapskate here. The cab driver will definitely send you straight to the doorstep (or at the end of the right alley). You will save your energy and time, for sure!

Day 3 in Korea: Seoul

Woke up in the morning just to find out that our breakfast was rice with chicken curry. Too bad, the chicken was not halal, so we told the ajhumma we were going off without breakfast. Koreans are very respectful for food especially when it comes to rice. However, after further explanation (by Nad of course), we went out and stop by at a coffee chop called Caffé Bene for breakfast.

After munching some sandwich and sipping some coffee, we went out to find Ihwa-dong art project. Based on the review, the project is about some artworks crafted on the wall. We went to Naksan park (where the arts are) and looked all over the park. We went up and down the hill, turn at every corner of the park and houses, climb up and down the stairs and after 1 hour, we reached the top of Naksan Park. But somehow, we could not find the art project at all!

We went down the hill and moved on to our next location, Changdeokgung Palace. I didn’t really bother on the history behind anything, so I just went there to enjoy the beauty of the palace. Paid W3,000, we went into the palace and snap a few shots. Met a few groups of student wandering around the palace for school trips.

Using a map of the palace, we moved around the palace easily. We decided to go to the secret garden located in the heart of this palace. There was a schedule for entrance to the garden because it is a requirement to have a tour guide (for translation purpose too). We bought a ticket at W5,000 for 1230hrs trip (which was supposed to be with Chinese translator; but we cannot wait for English session at 1430hrs as we have some other places to go).

The tour took 2 hours and it was kinda tiring. Done with it, we went out of the palace, rest for a while, munched our leftover donuts and moved on to Insadong.

Insadong is one of our favourite places in Seoul. There we lots of souvenir you can buy and can even bargain! The whole street actually sells almost same things so watch for the smallest shop, so you can bargain more~!

When we walked down the street we found a small ‘mall’ called Ssamziegil.The mall was built strangely that you can move from floor to floor without using any stairs or elevator. It kinda built like a swirl slides in playground.

Done having fun shopping in Insadong, we went up to Namsan Mountain to Namsan Tower. We took a small elevator to the ticket counter, then purchase a ticket of W6,300 (round trip)to go up to the top of the hill by cable car. We reached the top at 1745hrs as we were told that a beautiful light show will start sharp at 1800hrs.

As we enjoy the view from all the angles from the tower, we found massive amount of locks all over the place.

I’m not kidding.. They are uncountable!

Couple will have 2 padlocks and tie them together at the fence/tree with a note tied to it. You are free to use ANY kind of padlocks :)

They also have restaurant inside the tower, but it was kinda expensive. It would be best if you could bring something from the ground..

The menu & price.. They even have menu for proposing! Ahahahaha

When the clock stroke 1800hrs, to our surprise, the lights didn’t show up. We thought, ‘ah, maybe they are working on it’. Then we waited, and waited, and waited until it was dark and freezing cold (colder than Jeju!), but there was still no signs of light. We gave up waiting, and went to the information counter asking about it. The lady said, ‘I’m sorry, no light shows today. We have some problem’. Whaatttttttt???????? We have been waiting for almost 2 hours for nothing! With broken heart, we went down the mountain and went off to find our dinner (kebab) in Itaewon

Tiredly, we went back to Friend’s House for a good night sleep…

Tips for day 3:

1) Tell the House owner beforehand on your meal preferences

2) Do not bargain too much while buying souvenir. The owner might get a little bit uneasy.

3) To go to Namsan Park, Take Subway to Myeong-dong and follow exit number 3 (I think) or just follow the exit showing anything with word ‘Namsan’. The tower can be easily found though.

4) Ask the information counter on the lightshow beforehand. You do not want to waste your precious time in Seoul just for waiting!

5) If you plan to do the locks, you might want to bring your own padlocks since the shops there sold them expensively.

Day 2 in Korea: Jeju Island (Part 2) & Seoul

We woke up early in the morning (and I do mean EARLY – it was only 4.30am!) just to catch up the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchubong or Seongsan Sunrise Peak. From most of the reviews we heard, this is the most beautiful place to watch sunrise in Jeju Island. Hence, we drove off to Seongsan which is situated at the east of Jeju Island.

Along the way, we had our breakfast in the car, while observing the beauty of Jeju Island. Suddenly, the sky was getting brighter and brighter. We were like… Oops! The journey took about 1 hour plus (with excessive speeding.. huhu) but somehow, we did not manage to catch the beginning of sunrise.

We could see the peak a few kilometers away from the highway. Once we arrived, just at my first step out of the car, I screamed, “THIS IS FREAKING COLD!!!!” Being pure Malaysian, I can never stand long in cold area. Immediately I opened my hot pack, paste it inside my sweater and put on my fall jacket. Not to forget, my warm gloves! (I always get cold hands even in the office~)

Take a look at the scenery. The real view was much more beautiful than any pictures captured by the camera! And it is true!

When I was all set, I looked up to the sky and suddenly mesmerized by the whole view. In my heart, I whispered ‘Suhanallah’. The clouds were like fluffy cotton candies, moved by the wind towards an unknown direction. The flowers danced to the rhythm of the breeze and to the sound of the waves crashing at the beach.

Each of us paid W 2000 at the entrance. We went up to the peak through the stone stairs. Regardless of how cold the weather was, we keep on climbing and climbing….

We took a LOT of pictures here like nobody business! HAHAHA! The view is too astonishing that we would (~~kindly enough~~) like to share what we see with everybody. Once the sun rose up in the sky, we went down the crater for our next destination.

Going down took half the time when we hike up.. hehehe

We stopped by at Dunkin Donut for proper brunch and had ‘light’ shopping at souvenir shop before proceeding to our next destination, Seopjikoji.

On our way to Seopjikoji we found a vast field of rape seed flowers. We quickly pulled over and went for photo-shooting at the field (there was a man waiting to collect W 1000 entrance fee per person, probably the ~~debt collector~~ owner). The field was decorated nicely with heart-shaped arc and some carved stones.

My turn~

Since we are quite in a rush, we planned to stop by at Seopjikoji (a Korean drama titled ‘All In’ was shoot here, but I never watch it) for a shortwhile since it is only on the way back. When we arrived, we saw another scenic view of Jeju. Take a look for yourself:

The huge waves crashed on the stones making such loud roars that you can barely hear yourself screaming!

There is actually a lighthouse that we can climbed to see the whole view of the ocean, but we are done with climbing, so we decided to go straight to Cheonjiyeon falls.

Trust me, Cheonjiyeon falls is another scenic place in Jeju especially during spring. Located in Seogwipo-si, it is quite easy to find with numerous of signboards leading to park. So we just follow the signs and voila, we reached the entrance of the park. With entrance fee W 2,000, we strolled down the park until we reached the falls. Along the way, flowers blooming from their trees luxuriously.

Done with the stroll, we went back to the hiking in, checked-out and drove off to AVIS car rental. By their shuttle again, we went to Jeju International Airport for departure to Seoul.

We left Jeju Island at 1750hrs and reached Seoul around 1850. We took the subway to Hyehwa for our next pit stop, Friends house. It is a traditional house where you sleep on the floor. The room rates are W90,000 per night (for 3 people) include breakfast.

Friends House rating (out of 5):

1) Bed – 4.5/5 (the floor was very warm. They have heater installed underneath the floor! Awesome!)

2) Toilet - 5/5 (It was superbly clean! Even though we had to share toilets with other guests, it was cleaned like it was home)

3) Service - 4/5 (The two ajhumma were friendly. They had dogs living with them and luckily they were trained not to disturb guests. Tell them your needs beforehand e.g. no meat meal etc)

4) Overall rating – 4.5/5

Once we checked-in, we went out again to find a restaurant for late dinner. We managed to find an Indian restaurant where we ordered prawn briyani and vegetable samosa to fill in our grumbling empty stomachs. Late that night we went back straight to our room and dozed off~

Tips for day 2:

1. If your travel was in early spring, try to go to Jeju first as Jeju experience spring earlier than Seoul.

2. It is kinda hard to find halal food in Jeju. If you are going to stay for a long time, bring enough canned food / bread / instant porridge from home.

3. Try to wake up as early as you can to catch the sunrise or consider staying nearby as an option.

4. Make sure you know your exit from the subway station to look for accommodation. Try to get some landmarks (and updated pictures) so that you will not get lost easily. You do not want to waste your time and energy (from carrying luggages) just to find a secluded house.

5. Halal food is expensive. However, 2 portions of it can be shared among 3 ~~normal~~ people. Be prepared!

Day 1 in Korea : Jeju Island (Part 1)

Finally, i've set my feet in KOREA!! Wuhuuuuuuuu~~~Thanks to our tour planner, Nadiah, we managed to have a wonderful trip to Korea. Thanks also to our fun Maylin whom make this entire journey much more awesome! I'm so excited to share my experience and i know my blog feels thankful since i have not posted anything for the past few months! Let me lead you to my journey to Korea day by day..

We departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 2330hrs Malaysian Time. Our journey to Seoul took about 6 hours and 30 minutes and since the trip was in the middle of the night, we dozed off all along the way...ZzZzZzzzzzzzzzz

We arrived at Incheon International Airport around 0700hrs Korean time. The temperature for that morning is around 3oC; which means it was chilling cold, man! As per our planned itinerary (kudos again to Nad!) we took a subway to Gimpo International Airport for our flight to Jeju Island down south of Korea.

Take a look at the map of their subway route. Impressively complicated!

They even have wifi in Subway! And it was fast!

Our journey from Incheon to Gimpo Airport by train took roughly 30 minutes. The train ticket was 3500 Won (~RM10) per trip. We also have other options which are to take cab or shuttle bus from Incheon Airport but somehow, subway is more convenient plus you will not get lost since most of the signboards were written in English too.

We arrived at Gimpo Airport quite early so, we have to wait until the counter opened for check-in. With some breads we brought from Malaysia, we had our light breakfast to kill some time.Once checked-in, we wandered around the airport and we found this:

Cute isn't it? This is actually the only picture i had in Gimpo Airport. After this shot, we went to board our plane and took off at 1100hrs. Our journey to Jeju Island took just 1 hour but i still manage to have had my ~~beauty~~ sleep throughout.

Once we landed in Jeju, we quickly moved to the luggage carousel, picked up our back, and rushed to AVIS rental car counter. Million thanks to Nad once again (she even applied international license just for this trip!), the process of renting a car was so smooth. With a shuttle provided by AVIS, we went to their office to pick up our car.

Oops, this is actually our car. Do you really think we had money to rent a Volks? Dream~

After getting cozy in our car, we drove to our 1st accomodation, Jeju Hiking Inn. This place is located at Seogwipo-si (further down of Jeju) which took about 1 hour drive from the airport. The inn was so hard to find that once we found it, we realized that we had actually passed it for sooo many times!!

We paid 40,500 Won (~RM113) upon check-in for 1 night stay. Our room was located at 5th floor and there was no lift at all! (~~Serve us well for being cheapskate :p~~) Hence, we dragged our not-so-heavy luggages upstairs.

Jeju Hiking Inn rating (out of 5):

1) Bed - 3/5 (it has heater in the mattress which was great but the comforter is kinda dirty)

2) Toilet - 1/5 (Did not really work well. We had to wait for a few minutes until the hot water comes out of the tap. The toilet was kinda dirty)

3) Service - 3/5 (The check-in process was fast and the guy manning the counter can speak English. I think he need to improve a bit on his friendliness)

4) Overall rating - 2.33/5

Next, we went out to get our lunch. The guy at the counter told us to go to a place where we can ask for meal without meat (since he did not know what halal is). We then went to the restaurant which was at walking distance down the street.

Now our stomachs were full, we drove to Seogwipo harbour.It was almost dusk,the wind blew vigorously and of course, freaking COLD! Despite the chill that surrounded us, we still managed to stay for quite a while there for some camwhoring (photoshooting).

On our way back, we found a field of rape seed flower thus we quickly pulled over at the roadside. We took out our cameras and start making the field as if it is ours.

Tips for day 1:

1) Prepare a draft for itinerary for your whole visit (especially those who did not follow any tours). At least if you know where to prioritize in case of any discrepancies e.g. weather change.

2)If you can book you flight, car rental & hotel at your own country, do it! This will save your time and ease your mind while travelling. (You do not have to bring lots of cash either since koreans prefer cash for trading)

3) Before you try to find your accommodation yourself, go to the tourist information counter, ask the nice guy / lady to mark your place on your map and ask for the signature building around it.

Before, Now & Hopes for after..

Only 3 days left until we say 'Goodbye 2010, Hello to 2011'. How much i've learned, how many experiences i've gained in 2010 are uncountable. The principal is the most valuable takeaways that i’m going to bring along to 2011 and the years after.

When I take a glance at the reflection of myself in the mirror, for a split second I forgot about myself in 2009. Amazed by how far I’ve gone through, I never imagined my life will change me this much, in a good manner. Once in a while, I did feel like I woke up at the wrong side of the bed, but after thorough evaluation, I actually learnt something from it.

There have been events in 2010 that make me feel like on cloud nine, a few which really cause some stir and several sad states of affairs. Somehow, I never feel sorry for walking this trail, I never regretted any choices that I’ve made and I never once wish I have a restart button though I made abundant of mistakes.

I am so grateful to have my loved ones whom always there when I needed, always offer their shoulder to cry upon, and in no way judging me for who I am. I am so thankful to have my friends to light up my day and make each day wonderful. I am so relieved that I’ve been blessed with everything that colours each step of my journey. I hope next year and the future onwards will be filled with full of the joys of the spring.

Its coming to an end

It's now going towards the end of the year but i only have like 8 entries for 2010! What???

?? It's not that ~~i'm too lazy~~ i don't hv stuff to blog about, i'm jz trying to find time to update this baby.. (now, im trying to make excuses when i can update my fb everyday~ what a shame.. sob sob)

Lets list down some important stuff happening since my last update (which is in August.. shame again) that i missed from including them as entries for my blog:

1) My trip around M'sia (KK, Melaka, T'ganu, Bukit Tinggi, Lumut, Penang etc..)

2) Friends Wedding (too many to be listed down here - ~~takut kalo x list sume nnti ade yg kecik ati~~)

Dear blog,

I'm sorry i left you for a few months. It was not because i totally forgot about you..Wonder why i've been abandoning you for so long??

I hereby present to all of you my beloved newborn niece; PUTERI HANNAH ERYNA BINTI HARITZAL!!!

in the first few days... she was a very tiny little girl with weight of 2.2 kgs and length of 44cm

in her 1st month... she did cry a lot, but looking at this innocent face melts my heart away~

During her 2nd month... she loves camera! Trust me, it is very easy to capture her at any moments!

And in her 3rd month with Joy!

She is now 4 months old weighing more than 6 kgs. My bam bam (her name i used to call her because of her plump cheeks!) has grown so much, right?

Now, i do have a solid reason to leave you for a while, didn't i? But no worries my dear blog, you will still have something to show off once in a while~

How to fill your abundant free time at home~

Last year, when i spent most of my times at home, i bought myself a few stuff to kill my super duper empty time.

1) Pinball machine

A very interesting machine. I got it at almost 80% less than its normal price.

2) Dominos

There are tons of ways to play dominos, but we play this using our own rules!

3) CLUEDO

The one i like most, CLUEDO Board Game! It is basically a game of a search of the murderer along with his weapon and place he killed the victim. Feels like being a detective while playing it. (Blame Detective CONAN for this.. hehe) Awesome!

Back to Nature.. Taman Negara~

Last 2 weekends, my family (mom, dad & bobo) and I went to a place I love most... NATURE. I always put my hands up if i were being ask to join any back-to-nature activities. The main purpose for us going there was to survey the place for my dad's side family outing which was planned somewhere this year.

It was a 3 days 2 nights nice vacation.. We went for rapid-shooting & night jungle walk as soon as we arrived at Taman Negara, Jungle trekking/canopy walk, picnic & night river safari on the second day and fishing on the last day there. Let me explain each activity as we browse through the pictures below, shall we?

A very nice place to stay.. (Note: though its a motel, the room is more like a mini-chalet to me)

We went for rapid-shooting (we actually went to the rapids by boat, against the current and we all end up wet because of the strong waves pushing huge amount of water into the boat!) I did not take any photos while having fun for this activity. Hey, I'm trying to save my new baby camera from all the wetness here~~Result: we went back shivering....

After having our dinner at the motel, we went for Night Jungle Walk in Taman Negara. That night was meant to see some insects and deers that only appears at night. Unfortunately, we only managed to see some insects as all deers were probably afraid to come out due to full moon.. too bright for them~ :p Result: Able to snap a few shots of black scorpion and newborn caterpillar..

The next morning, we went for jungle trekking across Taman Negara... We trekked uphill until we reached....

The Canopy Walk! It was worth our sweats to finally reach here.. Note: we had to reach here early (at least by 9am) since they only allow a few people on the canopy at one time, which means we had to take turns and queue~ Result: managed to capture moments on how mommy's deal with her fear of height

In the evening, we went for some chilling experience in Lata Berkoh. The place was so captivating, the water was crystal clear and it was freezing cold! There was also a kelah (a type of nearly extinct fish, very delicious in taste!) sanctuary nearby. We spent a few hours there before the sunset. Result: my heels hurt caused by the slippery rocks. But it was worth it!

At the same adventure night, we travelled by boat through rivers surrounding Taman Negara for an activity called Night River Safari. Result: we managed to capture a few forest deers that only came out at night to graze some grass.. It was nice to ride on a boat in the middle of the night when the breeze was so soothing, but as you touch the water, it was warm..

On the final day, we went for fishing, but unfortunately, we did not get any fish after hours waiting for it under the scorching sun until my skin burnt :( ...So we went to survey the camping site we gonna use for our plan later this year. It was a very convenient place; not so hot, not so cold, no mosquitoes around too! Result: From daddy's expression, i think the plan later is definitely ON. I bet he even thought of the menu for barbeque for his plan.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia 2009 - PENANG (Day 3)

29th December 2009

Our final day of vacation finally arrived. Early that morning, we packed our stuff and cramped them in the car. We had our breakfast at the nearby restaurant after checking out and drove straight to the bridge.

When we were back at the mainland, we headed straight to Pulau Aman Jetty (Exit at Batu Kawan). The road was confusing but luckily, we didn't get lost. We arrived at the jetty when the sun was 90 degrees above us. After waiting for about 20 minutes, our boat arrived and ready to take us to the island.

It was worth it, right?? After all of us got our stomach full, we went back to the jetty, took the boat, and went off to the mainland. From there, we went straight back to KL (we did stop twice at the R&R) and reached home around 9pm~

It was a really nice vacation for me & my family.. Can't wait for the next cuti-cuti in 2010!

Cuti-cuti Malaysia - Penang (Day 2)

Lets continue with my travelling story...

On our 2nd day in Penang, we all woke up early to get ready for the journey of the day which is going to be sooo long. We dressed up into our most comfortable clothes and headed out straight away for breakfast. We just had a short breakfast at a mamak shop just nearby our hotel...

good to go!

After enjoying some toasts and cups of tea, we travel to our first destination, Prangin Mall. Actually, it wasn't our actual destination. We just went there to park our car and decided to walk around the town.

We strolled down Penang Road and stopped at a small hat shop just nearby the bridge. Daddy managed to get his hand on a nice cap (the one golfers usually wear). Next, we passed by some pickles shop and manage to get ourselves a few bags of different types of pickles ranging from 500g to 1 kg each. As we moved on further, we found this famous nasi kandar stall called 'Line Clear'. I wonder why it was named as it is though there always a long line queuing especially during peak hours.

When all of us were done with our lunch, we headed out of the stall and find ourselves a beautifully-decorated trishaw. Andak was so thrilled looking at it and insisted on riding on it. Since there were 6 of us, me and boy decided to walk in order to let the others got the feeling of riding a trishaw. We already been on it a few times, so we didnt mind.

Me and boy have some fun walking down the street at the same time taking some pictures of Penang Road (it was a good thing we didnt get on the trishaw). Be bought some chestnuts to kibble along the way as well as a hat for myself since it was burning hot being exposed under the afternoon heat.

Our next journey brought us to Batu Feringghi. As we arrived in front of Tropical Spice Garden, we were welcomed by the sound of the waves crashing the beach together with the calming breeze. It was one exhilarating moment of the day. After paying the entry tickets, we saunter into the garden excitedly. The view of the garden was stunning! I couldn't help myself from taking a huge amount of pictures! Daddy unofficially became our tour guide since he knew almost each and every type of plants in the garden. Thanks, daddy!

From all these pictures, you can judge yourself how cool is this place!

From Tropical Spice Garden, we drove off to a new Hard Rock Hotel which was located at Batu Feringghi beach. It was the coolest place in town! We had our hi-tea at Hard Rock Cafe (which was fabulous!) and shop a few souviners for ourselves at the Hard Rock Shop. It was my first time there and i will go there again!

We went back to Georgetown before sunset. We had our dinner at Gurney Plaza again since all of us were already exhausted by night time. We ended our day dozing of to wonderland..

Cuti-cuti Malaysia 2009 - PENANG (Day 1)

I know we are all now in 2010.. But i still wanna share some memories of how i spent my few days of 2009 with my family.. i'll break up the stories in different posts by day.. Enjoy!

27 DEC 2009 (Day 1)

We departed from home around 8am in the morning... Boy drove all the way to Penang. We had a few stops; at Rawang (breakfast) & Sg Perak (lunch).

We reached Penang around 2pm. (My brother drove so fast! U do the math~)We went straight to Georgetown, got lost a bit along the way, then arrived at our place-to-stay, Berjaya Georgetown. As usual, after checking-in, we sent our parents to the room and went for a tour around the hotel for a little camwhoring!

After a little rest in the evening, we went for a ride to New World Park. When we found out there was nothing entertaining, we went back to the hotel, park the car and went for a walk to Gurney Drive. We had a very nice dinner in a really cool atmosphere..

Our trip for the day didn't stop yet. We went to Gurney Plaza; which was just close by, bought a few movie tickets and went for midnight movie!!! It was like a-must-thing-to-do when we planned for a vacation in Penang. We sent mommy & daddy for a-little-time-together-alone watching the Storm Warriors while we went to watch the Chipettes (Alvin & the Chipmunks). Review for Alvin: TWO THUMBS UP! As soon as the movies ended, we walked straight to the hotel with each of us holding an ice-cream bought at McD.

Towards the end of the year..

Just a short post before i go to sleep..

I only realize now that i am creating the 40th post while my dear friend; Crystal, who started out her blog a bit later than mine has more than 100 posts now.. *very embarrassing*

I do love sharing stories with anybody who read my blog. For people who knew me well, you know how talkative i can be. I guess it suits my 'rainbow' personality (a term given by one of my colleague). It is just that lately, i've been facing a lot of restrictions to post one. I found myself making tons of excuses to not visiting my own blog. Sorry dear blog! Will make up to you later.

My schedule was not that tight, i suppose. Wake up early morning, go to work, have breakfast with the breakfast club (previously there were 3 of us, but Miss Mekya can't make it right now with her current boss.. hehe), continue with work, have lunch with friends, continue with work again, go back at 5.30, reach home at 6, play,play,play, rest and sleep before midnight.This routine rotates over & over again until TGIF.

As for weekend, it has been filled with fun stuff and hopefully applies to all other weekends ahead. Hanging out with family & friends is a stress-reliever. Too bad all my younger brothers are all grown up, now nobody wants to follow me shopping! In the end i went alone to the mall~ (sounds pitiful, but at least nobody has to wait for me while choosing & trying the clothes thousands of time!)

There will be more holidays towards the end of the year and i wish i can enjoy more stuff before 2009 ends. I am currently trying to fill in my calender with series of events. We never know what next year will come for us~

Me being 23...

I always started my post with 'it has been so long since the last post' and I had to do that again this time, my apology. My current life now is way out of my imagination.

When i stepped into 23 years old last few days, the first thing i did early in the morning was looking at my own reflection in the mirror. I am now a total different girl than the 22-year-old me. The first HUGE difference i noticed was that i am now no longer wear a student title, i am now a CAREER woman!

I am blessed with a very good job, i can say. Though it was not my dream job, it is something i am proud to be. A few friends told me i am lucky to be in my current job which i agreed so much, but nothing comes perfectly fine in life. Greater power gives you greater responsibility. Work comes with stress, of course. And abundant factors can contribute to this stress. Not that i am complaining, it is just the true face of working life. It is all about how you conquer a situation and not questioning why you are in such circumstances.

I love the image of myself right now and i will do my best to make people that i love proud.

To all whom wished me, thanx a lot. It was the thought that counts.

My sis' wedding: Final Part (Garden Wedding)

Finally!!! We are now reaching towards the end of my sis' wedding's post. This reception was the most awaited part among other receptions. Not that others were not interesting, it was just because we finally managed to visualize the bride's dream of having a wedding at the garden.

It wasn't an easy job to organize this reception. It took more than just energy and phone credits. Me & Boy (my brother) were the spines of this reception & trust me, it almost drove us crazy!

But above all, our beloved sister's happiness is the most valuable thing which cannot be exchanged with any hard works we did. Therefore, we were satisfied just by seeing our sister's dream conjured into reality.

And here i am, posting a number of success moments during the reception which was accomplished with the utmost love to our big sis that i think everybody should see...

My sis' wedding: Part 5 (Majlis Bertandang)

Thanx to my sis, my blog now become dustier than ever! It took so long to get pictures from these newly-weds. Not that they are on honeymoon... *sigh*

Nyway, lets move on to the next stage of the wedding; majlis bertandang (Groom's side). This reception was held at Galeri Shah Alam. Though it was quite hot that day, the view was very scenic. Luckily, late in the afternoon, it got a bit windy and all our sweats were dried off.

At 3 pm sharp on 18th of July 2009, my sister; Puteri Nur Esteena is officially a wife to Mr Haritzal. In the most serene ceremony, i could see the joy & happiness in each of my family members' eyes. After so much that we've gone through, it was the moment that we deserved to enjoy & celebrate~

My sis' wedding: Part 2 (Majlis Berinai)

This post suppose to be the 3rd part but unfortunately, it is going to take quite long time to get the pics for the actual 2nd part which were taken during majlis akad nikah. Lets save those pictures for the 3rd part, shall we?

After maghrib prayer, the groom; dressed up in traditional royal costume, arrived together with his family. Most uncles & aunties from my family (bride's side) welcomed them with bunga rampai & air mawar. Then, the groom's crew were directed into the house.

Waiting in the house was the bride with face covered by the bridesmaid (me!) The bride's face will only reveal after all the guests sat down in front of the dais.

Next, the merenjis part. This was the most exciting part. Each family members (from both sides) needed to perform this merenjis no matter how old you were. The list of people whom should carry out the merenjis part are as follows (In the exact order):

1) Groom's parents to the bride
2) Groom's siblings to the bride
3) Groom's other family members to the bride
4) Groom to the bride
5) Bride to the groom
6) Bride's parents to the groom
7) Bride's other family members to the groom
8) Bride's siblings to the groom

Gifts from the couple..

To each person, after merenjis, they had to give some 'angpow' to the person they perform the merenjis. In return, they received some gifts from the host. When all the people aforementioned had fulfilled their task, then only the bride & groom sat together on the dais.

Bantal Busuk..

It's already 1.15 am but i still can't get myself to sleep. I should have been dreaming hours ago after i took my medicine. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work, so here i am, blogging.

I look around to find some ideas. Suddenly, my eyes caught up 1 of my favourite things in the world; my 'BANTAL BUSUK'! Yes, now i am confessing to the whole world that i currently have a Bantal Busuk in my possession. Do we call it 'Smelly Pillow' [direct translation sometimes works, huh] in English?? Hehe~ It should be interesting to write about it.

I didn't have it since i was a toddler. I had it during my early days in boarding school. It actually came with a bolster, but i lost that bolster through time. So i am left with this rectangular pillow. It has exactly 100 bears printed on it [i counted them, really!]; some in chocolate and some grey.

Originally, the pillow was beige in colour. However, as time pass by, the colour changes and now, i also cannot describe what colour it is! My mom once said "if campak dalam kolam, ikan pun bole mati!" Still, it smells nice to me~

This special pillow is not for me to hug. I use to put it behind my back when i go to sleep. It makes me feel safer. I also use it as a good friend to wipe my tears occasionally. I think it holds more secret about me than anyone does. It also fits into my luggage bag so i can bring it everywhere except when i want to travel by plane.

I think i should stop confessing about my pillow now.. I really have to try to sleep or i will become a zombie in the morning! I got a whole list of stuff to do tomorrow for the reception this weekend. Friends whom asked for pictures will have to wait.. The wedding hasn't reach its final moment yet.

In less than 100 hours

Wedding preparations comes together with conflicts. As we always hear, not everything goes exactly like what we planned. My sister is currently not being like the above bridezilla, Thank God!)

On the bright side, these days make our family bond much2 stronger. Most of us 6 siblings' time are at home. We divided the chores among ourselves, cleaned the house together, painted the bride's room ourselves (and some of the paint splashed onto our hair & skin either purposely or accidentally ) while sang along to the song from a laptop. It was so fun having everybody enjoyed working in a stress-free environment.

In less than 100 hours, my sister will become somebody's wife. With an additional person in our family, we hope that greater joy & fun will also be added into our life. We seriously pray that things will turn out well for all receptions that gonna be held this week and the next.

10 things that i do these days...

I don't really know what 2 update in this blog since lately, each day is always similar to the other days.

Juz wanna share a few things that i do these days:

1) Teaching those kids lessons
2) Taking care of my cat and her newborn kittens; Sora, Sory, Tiger and Miki (miki passed away 1 week after he was born)
3) Making preparations for my only sister's wedding (from painting the rooms to distributing the wedding invitations)
4) Fetching lil' brother from school as well as sending him to tuition everyday
5) Going to morning or night market each time the fridge is out of fish and veges
6) Making desserts for almost every occasion in-house. Being a sous chef occasionally.
7) Watching a sinetron that has not finished yet though already 250++ episodes aired
8) Playing Neopets!
9) Eating a huge amount of food!

The 10th spot will be left for any abrupt occasions that need my hand ie. nursing and shopping~

1st may CAMPING!!!

This is where i camped with my family last 2 weeks. Located in Kg Toho, Jelebu, we went there to get away far from the hustles & bustles of the polluted city. And i do mean FAR literally. It took hours (like a normal drive from KL to Malacca) to reach the top of the mountain thanks to our 3 Mr 4-wheelers. I can't imagine what will happen if a normal car joined us.

Judging from our small campfire doesn't mean we didn't do much work. We did Hell A Job there! It was supposed to be a holiday due to Labour's Day, but i feel worked more than a labour! With all the cooking and cleaning, i was wore off by evening. All guys went for fishing and we girls stayed at the camp, gossiping while waiting for the fish...

This place was like a door to heaven for me. The water was crystal-clear and Soooooooooo cold! Each time i tried to put my feet into the water, i could feel the chill up to my brain. I had to wash my face and wet my head first before entering the water; a tip given by my dad in order to slow down the shock received by our body so that we won't feel very cold at start. While having fun at the river, i was once shocked by a tickle came from a small fish that swam around my toes.

Kids especially, had more fun than us. Looking at their 'style' trying to get a fish was hilarious! But they did caught some, unlike me who didn't have luck at all though tried~ One of them even caught a fish just using fishing line tied to a piece of branch! Kinda embarrassed, lucky me, they were all my siblings and cousins.

Our way home was much faster (maybe because it was easier to drive down the hill than climbing to the top). Most of us slept in the car and as we opened our eyes, all we saw were our home sweet homes...

It was an event worth remembering...

Daddy's 53rd birthday...

On 13th April 2009, we celebrated our beloved daddy's 53rd Birthday! My sis and her fiance brought us out for dinner at Oriental Spoon, Sentral Plaza around 8pm that night.The restaurant was empty; which means, the whole place was for us! We enjoyed the delicious hot Chinese cuisine there until there was no room left in each of us! Here are some moments captured during the night:

We didnt end our night at Oriental Spoon. From the restaurant, we went straight to a durian stall around 10pm (thanks to uncle C for his treat!) We all longed for durian (Or was it just me? It was my idea to go there..) So, we ended up having more than 10 durians! The durians were small sizes ones but they were sweet...

Too bad, no pics for the durian here..Go and google urself~

Hoho! An intersting issue from Star Magazine.. Are they now trying to put these two celebrity princesses into a battle like they did to the other adult celebrities???

From this mag, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is being described as a down-to-earth girl with a free spirit whom wear only hand-me-downs from her siblings while Suri Cruise comes across as a salon-coiffed primadonna with a bad temper.

This mag also points out that Shiloh binges on cookies and plays with dolls while Suri is still hooked on the bottle and will throw a fit if her mommy forgets her blankie!

Come on guys, this is not a toddler showdown or what-so-ever! They are just going to be 3!

Whatever the press or paparazzi will say in the future, may these girls will stay as best friends FOREVER... Thanks to their mothers' effort for keep continuing to get them together..hope these little girls will survive in their celebrity world and didnt get spoiled..

Becoming a celebrity means a lot of things. U will enter a new, different world u can never imagine. In a split second, people will look up to u, and u will always be the center of attention from various group of people such as media, fans and etc.

To some fellow, being a celebrity is like a dream come true. Some will do anything and search everywhere to be one even though just for a day.

I found this colourful banner from Nuffnang website and was drifted into wanting to know more. So, i got into the page and i found this:

OMG! There is going to be a MUSIC BASH; the greatest music event of all!!

Im now officially in LOVE with this korean drama called 'Boys Over Flowers' It has 25 episodes (but i've only watched 18).Seriously, each episode i watched, i couldn't make my eyes move away from my lappy.

Three main reasons why i like this drama:

1) This drama can makes me laugh, cry, nervous all at once in most of their episodes.
2) The location of each set is soooo fascinating especially the set at New Caledonia. It is very breathtaking and i reaally2 wish i could go there someday..
3) Their main actors (the F4 to be exact) are damn Handsome!! ngeh3x ;p

Wanna see how complex the relation of the people in this story??

Huhu, well, i can't wait for the next episode to come!!

Mourning...

This post is dedicated to my late uncle, Pak Su (Datuk Ir Muha Bin Pandak Ahmad) whom passed away at age 49 early this morning (7 March 2009).He left his wife with 6 kids and 1 granddaughter.He already suffered from so many operations due to ~~infection at his spine~~ kidney's complication.

To Paksu,
Though we seldom met lately, your words and memories with you will always stay in my mind.

To Maksu & my dearest cousins,
Be Strong. Allah loves him more. We will always support you by your side.

May Allah bless his soul and he will rest in peace. Al-Fatihah

Haha, lucky this pic came out. It was taken at Swensen's during my trip with my parents to Hatyai, Thailand. All ice-creams here are damn delicious that i couldnt skip even a day without having their ice-cream. I love most their Sticky Chewy Overload (shown in the picture); double-scoop chocolate ice-cream with some bananas and fresh cream. It also comes with overflowing luxurious chocolate sauce. The price is 69 baht (around rm7 here). U sure gotta try it!!!

My sis' engagement

A few friends keep asking me bout my sis' engagement which was held last month (17/1/09). Things went well and it was wonderful. Here are a few pics captured on that day:

Some of our 9 dulangs of hantaran. The guys side returned with 7 dulangs which some of them are these:

The ceremony started sharp at 12 noon and ended around 3pm. Mom & Dad looked quite nervous (well it was their 1st time), but we knew they were in a merry. Below are some exciting moments of the day.

The wedding is expected to be in july as follows:

17/7: Khatam Al-Quran (morning)
18/7: Akad Nikah (morning)
19/7: Bersanding-bride's house (afternoon)
25/7: Bersanding - groom's place (TBA)
26/7: Reception - Taman Tasik Perdana (night)

This is the gift for the guests - the photographer has already untied the ribbon (penat buat 300pcs of this!)
